It is no surprise that the 2012 Honda Civic has gotten some of the best reviews in its class. The body style was carefully adjusted to prove the Civic’s evolution in time rather than a complete redesign. The vehicle is designed for comfort-ability, safety, and economic sustainability. The sculpted bumpers, swept back windshield, longer hood, and larger taillights are all a part of the 2012 Honda Civic’s charm. Some of the body style advancements also improve the Civic’s aerodynamics.
When I was sitting in the 2012 Honda Civic for the first time, I realized how comfortable the seat was before anything! No intrusive lumbar support and no awkward head rest. The two-tier display with digital speedometer above the analog tachometer was right where I needed it to be. The vehicle is designed for easy driving, the steering wheel does not block important displays from the driver like similar models. When I started driving the 2012 Honda Civic LX Automatic I was a little hesitant… I had been driving manual Honda Accords for over five years, needless to say speed and pickup are important to me when driving in Atlanta traffic. I was amazed at how the Civic drove though.

The 2012 Honda Civic is like no other automatic fuel efficient vehicle I have driven in the past. The 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine with 140 hp is strong enough to feel its power on the road yet is still incredibly economic with 28 mpg in the city and 39 mpg oh highways! The gears changed flawlessly when I hit the gas getting onto the highway. I couldn’t hear a sound and the ride was indescribably smooth.

The multi informational display is fantastic as well, I could easily read what songs were playing while I was driving. The interior was very spacious with more leg room and shoulder room for the front and rear passengers. The 2012 Honda Civic is on an entirely different list when I compare it to all of the fuel efficient cars in its class. The style is sleek, the inside is comfortable and charming, visibility is perfect, and the drive was smooth and fast!

The most impressive part about the 2012 Honda Civic is how there are so many upgrades from the 2011 Honda Civic and so many options like the Hybrid, Coupe, HF, and Sedan… Yet the prices have largely unchanged! There are so many trim styles to chose from at, check out your Atlanta Dealer!

2012 CRV

 
The 2012 Honda CRV is here and it is BOLD!  This is the 4th Generation CRV and it is truly a must see.  Its sleek new look is bound to get noticed with the redesigned grille and front bumper along with the 17 inch alloy wheels (EX and EX-L models). These design changes make the CR-V stand out in 2012 more than it ever did before. The exterior is eye catching as much as the interior is sophisticated; the complete package in a compact SUV.

The interior is lavish with some of the most advanced features in the auto industry including the Econ Button !  This environmentally friendly feature can be turned on at any time and it will help increase your MPG by reducing the engine use (and other energy sources) when the vehicle is coasting. Eco Assist will also help the driver understand when they have been driving at the vehicle’s maximum gas saving potential and when they have been driving less efficiently. The CR-V has optimal gas mileage of 23 city/31 highway mpg, outstanding for a compact SUV.

Other interior updates include the rear-view camera, Pandora Radio, Blue-tooth, voice text messaging, and USB audio interface. The steering wheel is fully equipped to control the Multi-Information Display (i-MID) located in the middle of the dashboard. The i-MID has a custom background imag (option) that you can load from your USB, while displaying either music you are playing, SMS Texts, your current MPG and your turn by turn directions as you drive. The steering wheel can control the radio, phone calls, and your navigation system making it easier and much safer to multitask while you drive! Not only does the new CR-V feature state of the art technolgical advancements like the satellite linked navigation system with voice recognition. It also has an improved cargo area with 60/40 rear seat fold back.

The seats have multiple configurations, so the space can be customized for moving, shopping, packing, and so much more. The most common feedback from moms who are on the go is that the new CR-V has the easiest seats to fold down! You do not have to remove the head rest, you do not have to push the seat down, lift the seat back (while you strain your back), or even put your purse down to fold these seats. The women simply love this easy to use feature. Just pull one lever in the rear cargo area and the seat folds into itself. Another note that the CRV’s women drivers  commonly made was the fact that the center console in the front of the vehicle is large enough for their purse! So they wouldn’t have to hand it to their husband while they drive, or put it behind the seat. Enough space for a purse sounds like no big deal but these small details make a world of difference.

Consumer Reports states that the CR-V is far above average in its safety ratings. No matter what road you’re on in the city, country, mountains, snow, or beaches; safety should always be a top priority in any vehicle you drive. The 2012 Honda CRV

Honda has been very secretive about the all new 2012 Honda CRV! I have heard from sources that the 2012 has been spotted in the public a few times, and expect some big changes for the all new 2012 Honda CRV. Expect the 2012 Honda CRV to be Honda’s boldest CRV to date. Traditionally the CR-V has been well within the parameters of a compact SUV- the 2012 Honda CRV will change all of that. I have heard rumors that the 2012 Honda CRV will have an available third row seat, and a Rear Entertainment Trim Level too. Judging from the online photos I have seen., the CRV has broadened and squared the rear cargo area, which may substantiate the third row seat claim.  I also wonder if the 2012 Honda CRV will include the Full Color Multi-Informational Display like the 2012 Honda Civic. Nonetheless, Honda does not call me to help their design team, so until that happens – most of the online blogs will be about 75% correct with about 25% of ad-lib. What I can tell you in regards to Honda CRVs in Atlanta is this-CRVs hold their resale value, and the owners really enjoy their functionality.  In 2011 Edmunds.com awarded the CRV as “Top Recommended” and “Best Retained Value”. Not a bad day at the office at all for the Honda CRV!

I am hearing the 2012 Honda CRV is due out in Late Fall for the Atlanta Area. Rugged, yet refined- 2012 Honda Pilot

The all new 2012 Honda Pilot is coming to Honda Carland and Honda Carland North soon. Honda did some minor tweaks that include  a new grill! I am being told that the new 2012 Honda Pilot will also include some new comfort and convenience features, and may even have a bit better EPA Fuel Economy.  Honda was recently awarded the Edmunds.com Best Retained Value Award for non-luxury vehicle, and in 2010 the Honda Pilot was awarded the “Best Resale Value” award from KBB.com.

Hybrids have stole the show for iconic gas mileage. Rightfully so, the Honda CR-Z, Civic Hybrid, and Insight Hybrid have all shown huge savings at the pump.  Many industry experts are looking at the Overall Cost of ownership over specific periods of time, and thats where the Honda Hybrids have stolen the show! I read a report from Honda - Sales Insight.  It reviewed the cost of ownership- and the significant saving with Honda Hybrid Cars.

Since some costs vary by region, the follwing is based out of Santa Monica, CA, and assumes 15000 miles per year, go to Edmunds.com for your regionalized cost of ownership. Keep in mind that depriaction, taxes and fees, fuel, maintenance, repairs, financing, Insurance, and any tax credits (if available).  There is also an emissions advantage that will also save our ozone a bit more.

The Carland Group would like to shed some light on common misconceptions. Often we hear customers  say ” Just an Oil Change”, or they “just changed the oil.” The truth to the matter is an oil change is actually only one of the things we do when you bring your Honda or Acura to one of our local Atlanta Honda and Acura Service locations.  Honda and Acura genuine Accessories are quite important here. The OEM oil filters contain much more medium, an anti-drainback valve, and a by-pass valve. The oil filter will actually close if it becomes clogged to help avoid engine oil deprivation. The Honda and Acura oil filter will also keep oil from draining completely out of your cylinders to avoid long-term engine damage from cold starts. On top of that the oil filter has a “P” Shape seal that will actually completely seal vs. many of the competitor’s flat seals that may cause oil leaks. Another thing our Honda and Acura Technicians do is replace your Drain Plug “Crush Washer”. What is a Crush Washer?-it is a one time use washer that will crush and seal when the oil pan drain bolt is fastened. The crush washer will protect the threads of your aluminum oil pn and help protect against leaks . Too often customers come in with damaged oil pans from other service shops that did not use a crush washer or reused the crush washer. On average an aluminum oil pan will cost about $500.00 to replace. Some shop will actually use a nonmailable metal washer that will not reduce torque pressure, and will still strip the threads on oil pan.

Acura and Honda Carland Service Centers  also perform a multi-point inspection on your Honda or Acura. This form will rate the condition of your tires, brakes, and fluids. When you are ready to leave, our service advisors will review the sheet to bring you up to speed on your cars overall condition. This will help you to anticipate any needed future auto repairs or maintenance. Part of this inspection includes your braking system, tire wear, alignment inspection,  and your battery condition. It is nice to know when you are on a trip that your brakes are at 80% , your tires have about 15,000 miles of tread, and your battery’s holding steady.

All 5000 mile services are considered EXPRESS , which will insure that you will be able to be in and out within 45 minutes. An entire technician team will complete your service, and will meticulously follow the Honda EXPRESS service guidelines. Wen you bring your Honda or Acura to Roswell, Duluth, or Alpharetta- we will even wash your Honda or Acura for you.  It is very easy for an independent shop to tell you “You don’t need to, or they are over charging you, in fact, in most cases we are cheaper, but it seems that standard reply is that the dealer in some way is taking advantage of your needs. It is a common misunderstanding, but in reality- our service departments continually compare our prices with independents, and in most cases- the independent is replacing your oil filter, and that is it. When in fact – Carland Service is insuring that your Honda and Acura will receive the maintenance and care it deserves, and not short cutting to be a price leader.
