The 2012 Odyssey is spreading like wildfire, yes… a van… but not just any van, this one is turning anti-van families into Odyssey Only families. The Odyssey has a reputation that is hard to compete with, let alone the new sleek attitude that the 2012 Odyssey has. We know that consumers nowa-days do their research before they make ANY major purchase, especially when they have a family to think about. The 2012 Toyota Sienna is the most common comparison to the 2012 Honda Odyssey, though the Sienna is not a horrible choice, it is still lacking in areas that are most important to families. Anything that the Sienna is lacking in, the Odyssey makes up for all of it and more. Critics of all sorts fall in love with the 2012 Honda Odyssey for its family-friendly interior, untouchable performace and almost perfect crash test scores.

The Odyssey has an incredible interior; spacious, classic, yet stylish and user friendly. The center stack on the Sienna is functional, but its textured plastic isn’t easy on the eye, to say the least. It is much harder to reach than the center stack in the Odyssey. The Odyssey not only looks better when you are cruising, but also functions much better. Another major difference is the rear view camera, the display for this feature in the Sienna is only a 3 inch monitor, while the Odyssey has an 8 inch monitor. The second row middle back seat can become a console/ arm rest, this is a huge feature for the family friendly drive. No matter how long the trip may be, the Odyssey is made with driver friendly features as well as accommodations for all passengers, making the ride an experience. The road noise has been greatly reduced in 2012 Honda Odyssey compared to previous models. A common difference that critics have noticed is that the seats in the Odyssey are much larger and more comfortable for adults than the seats in the Sienna. There is room for one more as the Odyssey fits eight passengers and the Sienna only fits seven. The ride is simply five star, but if a comfortable stylish interior isn’t enough to convince you, Odyssey’s performance will be sure to win you over.

The Odyssey has a V6, i-VTec, 3.5 liter engine that gets 28 MPG Highway and 19 MPG City. The standard Odyssey’s engine has 248 horsepower and performs top notch, as top-trim models (Touring/Touring Elite) come with a new 6-speed automatic, updated from last year. This is compared to the Sienna V6 3.5 liter engine that gets 18 MPG City and 25 MPG Highway. Yet again Honda shows their green side with a more fuel efficient engine. Though the Sienna has a larger turning ratio and has more horsepower, the Odyssey gets the gas mileage of a mid sized sedan. I found the Odyssey’s 1.4-inch wider stance will take corners with ease, as it delivers a smooth ride.

When it comes to safety, it is an understatement when I say that the 2012 Honda Odyssey is “top-notch”. It not only received a 5-star overall score from the NHTSA, it was also named a top safety pick from the IIHS. Honda’s Advanced Compatibility Engineering (ACE) keeps passengers safe as it maximizes occupant protection in frontal collisions. A variety of braking advancements (EBD, ABS, and BA) contribute greatly to the Odyssey’s perfect scores. Every outboard passenger has side curtain airbags, both driver and front passenger have dual stage front & side airbags.

The proof is in the ratings and with so many logical reasons to purchase the Odyssey over the Sienna, there is only one last thing to mention. 2013 Acura ILX

In January, Acura unveiled one new vehicle to its vehicle line up and two much anticipated redesigns.

The ILX concept was introduced as a new entry level vehicle with three different power train options.

A 2.0 liter in-line 4 cylinder engine with a sequential 5-speed automatic transmission, 2.4 liter in-line 4 cylinder with a 6-speed manual transmission, and a first for Acura 1.5 liter hybrid 4 cylinder & Electric motor with an automatic transmission.

The ILX Has several new features that include full Pandora® Internet Radio interface, key-less access system with smart entry & push button start, and a voice to text message feature. In a more efficient package, the ILX still deploys many of Acura high tech safety features such as ACE body structure (Advance Compatibility Engineering) and Acura’s VSA (Vehicle Stability Assistance). It is no surprise that the 2012 Honda Civic has gotten some of the best reviews in its class. The body style was carefully adjusted to prove the Civic’s evolution in time rather than a complete redesign. The vehicle is designed for comfort-ability, safety, and economic sustainability. The sculpted bumpers, swept back windshield, longer hood, and larger taillights are all a part of the 2012 Honda Civic’s charm. Some of the body style advancements also improve the Civic’s aerodynamics.
When I was sitting in the 2012 Honda Civic for the first time, I realized how comfortable the seat was before anything! No intrusive lumbar support and no awkward head rest. The two-tier display with digital speedometer above the analog tachometer was right where I needed it to be. The vehicle is designed for easy driving, the steering wheel does not block important displays from the driver like similar models. When I started driving the 2012 Honda Civic LX Automatic I was a little hesitant… I had been driving manual Honda Accords for over five years, needless to say speed and pickup are important to me when driving in Atlanta traffic. I was amazed at how the Civic drove though.

The 2012 Honda Civic is like no other automatic fuel efficient vehicle I have driven in the past. The 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine with 140 hp is strong enough to feel its power on the road yet is still incredibly economic with 28 mpg in the city and 39 mpg oh highways! The gears changed flawlessly when I hit the gas getting onto the highway. I couldn’t hear a sound and the ride was indescribably smooth.

The multi informational display is fantastic as well, I could easily read what songs were playing while I was driving. The interior was very spacious with more leg room and shoulder room for the front and rear passengers. The 2012 Honda Civic is on an entirely different list when I compare it to all of the fuel efficient cars in its class. The style is sleek, the inside is comfortable and charming, visibility is perfect, and the drive was smooth and fast!

The most impressive part about the 2012 Honda Civic is how there are so many upgrades from the 2011 Honda Civic and so many options like the Hybrid, Coupe, HF, and Sedan… Yet the prices have largely unchanged! There are so many trim styles to chose from at, check out your Atlanta Dealer!
