The 2012 Honda CRV is here and it is BOLD!  This is the 4th Generation CRV and it is truly a must see.  Its sleek new look is bound to get noticed with the redesigned grille and front bumper along with the 17 inch alloy wheels (EX and EX-L models). These design changes make the CR-V stand out in 2012 more than it ever did before. The exterior is eye catching as much as the interior is sophisticated; the complete package in a compact SUV.

The interior is lavish with some of the most advanced features in the auto industry including the Econ Button !  This environmentally friendly feature can be turned on at any time and it will help increase your MPG by reducing the engine use (and other energy sources) when the vehicle is coasting. Eco Assist will also help the driver understand when they have been driving at the vehicle’s maximum gas saving potential and when they have been driving less efficiently. The CR-V has optimal gas mileage of 23 city/31 highway mpg, outstanding for a compact SUV.

Other interior updates include the rear-view camera, Pandora Radio, Blue-tooth, voice text messaging, and USB audio interface. The steering wheel is fully equipped to control the Multi-Information Display (i-MID) located in the middle of the dashboard. The i-MID has a custom background imag (option) that you can load from your USB, while displaying either music you are playing, SMS Texts, your current MPG and your turn by turn directions as you drive. The steering wheel can control the radio, phone calls, and your navigation system making it easier and much safer to multitask while you drive! Not only does the new CR-V feature state of the art technolgical advancements like the satellite linked navigation system with voice recognition. It also has an improved cargo area with 60/40 rear seat fold back.

The seats have multiple configurations, so the space can be customized for moving, shopping, packing, and so much more. The most common feedback from moms who are on the go is that the new CR-V has the easiest seats to fold down! You do not have to remove the head rest, you do not have to push the seat down, lift the seat back (while you strain your back), or even put your purse down to fold these seats. The women simply love this easy to use feature. Just pull one lever in the rear cargo area and the seat folds into itself. Another note that the CRV’s women drivers  commonly made was the fact that the center console in the front of the vehicle is large enough for their purse! So they wouldn’t have to hand it to their husband while they drive, or put it behind the seat. Enough space for a purse sounds like no big deal but these small details make a world of difference.

Consumer Reports states that the CR-V is far above average in its safety ratings. No matter what road you’re on in the city, country, mountains, snow, or beaches; safety should always be a top priority in any vehicle you drive. Rating well for crash tests and beyond well for highway safety, this model is at the top in it’s class. All three models, LX, EX, and EX-L have 2.4L - 4 cylinder engines with 16-Valve DOHC i-VTEC^® . Each model can be equipped with AWD or 2WD. The power of the 4 cylinder engine shouldn’t be underestimated, this engine has been perfected through years of engineering and it complimets Honda’s light weight CR-V ideally.

The 2012 Honda CRV

Honda has been very secretive about the all new 2012 Honda CRV! I have heard from sources that the 2012 has been spotted in the public a few times, and expect some big changes for the all new 2012 Honda CRV. Expect the 2012 Honda CRV to be Honda’s boldest CRV to date. Traditionally the CR-V has been well within the parameters of a compact SUV- the 2012 Honda CRV will change all of that. I have heard rumors that the 2012 Honda CRV will have an available third row seat, and a Rear Entertainment Trim Level too. Judging from the online photos I have seen., the CRV has broadened and squared the rear cargo area, which may substantiate the third row seat claim.  I also wonder if the 2012 Honda CRV will include the Full Color Multi-Informational Display like the 2012 Honda Civic. Nonetheless, Honda does not call me to help their design team, so until that happens – most of the online blogs will be about 75% correct with about 25% of ad-lib. What I can tell you in regards to Honda CRVs in Atlanta is this-CRVs hold their resale value, and the owners really enjoy their functionality.  In 2011 Edmunds.com awarded the CRV as “Top Recommended” and “Best Retained Value”. Not a bad day at the office at all for the Honda CRV!

I am hearing the 2012 Honda CRV is due out in Late Fall for the Atlanta Area. Rugged, yet refined- 2012 Honda Pilot

The all new 2012 Honda Pilot is coming to Honda Carland and Honda Carland North soon. Honda did some minor tweaks that include  a new grill! I am being told that the new 2012 Honda Pilot will also include some new comfort and convenience features, and may even have a bit better EPA Fuel Economy.  Honda was recently awarded the Edmunds.com Best Retained Value Award for non-luxury vehicle, and in 2010 the Honda Pilot was awarded the “Best Resale Value” award from KBB.com.

Hybrids have stole the show for iconic gas mileage. Rightfully so, the Honda CR-Z, Civic Hybrid, and Insight Hybrid have all shown huge savings at the pump.  Many industry experts are looking at the Overall Cost of ownership over specific periods of time, and thats where the Honda Hybrids have stolen the show! 2001 Acura MDX in Atlanta

The Acura MDX is a SUV with many firsts! The MDX was the first crossover SUV with third row seating! It is rumored that MDX stand for “Mullti-Dimensional Luxury”- whether that is true …?  The 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, and 2006 Acura MDX boasted 265 HP, and was the first truly sophisticated 4 WD System.  Variable Torque Management will actually anticpate wheel slippage, and through a series of electronics will adjust the balance of power between front and rear wheels!  A great test for this system, is to stop on a gravel drive way or parking lot, step on the gas and watch what happens… the MDX will interpret the loss of traction, adjust power distribution, and accelerate over the gravel without spraying the gravel all over the under-body! A conventional- well let’s just say- I hope that someone is not behind the vehicle! 2003 MDXs did receive a more structural and suspension modifications to improve the ride of the Acura MDX.  The 2003s also added about 20 more horsepower which helped distinguish it amongst the pack. In 2004 the Acura MDXs went to dual tail pipes which may have attributed some to the 5 horsepower bump- the significant changes however were the side curtain air bags, front and rear lights, new wheels, and most important fit and finish upgrades!

2nd Generation MDX from 2007  until now- has set the SUV world on fire! Wider track and longer wheelbase ! The introduction of the ACE system or Advance Compatibility Engineering was crucial. The 2nd Generation MDX will actually absorb the impact of various vehicle types throughout thee front crumple zones. Crash Energy is dissipated around the cabin, to help minimize the risk of injuries! Horsepower shot up to 300, and sport tuned suspension were tested in Germany’s Nurburing Race Track! Variable Torque Management grew into “Super Handling All Wheel Drive”- which is the most advance AWD system in the world.  The 2007 and up MDX come in 3 packages!

1. Technology-Acura/Alpine DVD-based satellite GPS navigation system with AcuraLink satellite communications with real-time traffic reporting (XM NavTraffic), a 410-watt Acura/ELS DTS Surround audio system with XM Satellite Radio, rearview camera, and a remote powered liftgate, operated either from the key’s remote, inside the car or directly from the lift gate

2. The Sport Package featured active suspension dampers (co-developed by Honda and Delphi) that dynamically improves handling according to road conditions with a button in the center stack to switch to Sport/Comfort modes. This Comfort/Sport mode uses magneto rheological dampers, which change their characteristics when a magnetic field is introduced (usually in milliseconds). The Sport package also includes unique 5-spoke aluminum-alloy wheels, perforated leather seats and the items in the Technology package.

3. The Entertainment Package offers a flip-down 9-inch (230 mm) LCD screen with 2 wireless Dolby Digital headphones, second-row heated outboard seats, and a unique center-stack silver trim. The Entertainment Package is only available on Sport or Technology Package models as compared to the 1st Generation MDX where the Entertainment Package was available as a standalone package on Touring Models.

The 2009 MDX had added more upgrades to the navigation system and there are two new colors added. The power tailgate, previously available only with the Entertainment package, is now included with Technology and Sport packages.

The 2010 MDX gets a facelift, adopting Acura’s new “Power Plenum” grille that debuted on its 2009 model year sedans. The most important upgrades to the 2010 model are a new 6-speed SportShift automatic transmission. The 2011 Honda CRZ is a do in the showroom any day! CNN rated the 2011 Honda CR-Z as the #1 Vehicle worth waiting for in the summer! The 2011 Honda CRZ is a Sporty Elite Hybrid. The CRZ is available in 6 spd manual or CVT Automatic with Paddle Shifters. 

The 2011  Honda Odyssey is a must see. The 2011 Odyssey is due out in the fall! If you are considering another Make Minivan that do wait! However, the 2010 Honda Odysseys are under clearance, so bargain shoppers need to look no further.

The 2011 Acura TSX Wagon us due out in the fall. The TSX Wagon will deliver and estimated 30 MPG!

Weighing in at an expected 201 HP, the TSX wagon will be able to accelerate through local Atlanta trouble spots! Acura.com  expects around 30 MPG, which all but guarantees a 2.4 liter 4cyl model. We have not received any word on whether the V6 will be an option. The signature sport tuned suspension is a given. Acura’s suspensions will optimize the handling characteristics during various driving conditions. Make no mistake, Acura’s TSX wagon will provide highly spirited performance.

Acura techies do not have to worry. Tech Package will be available! The Hard Disk Drive will be available coupled with the 10 speaker ELS surround sound. The navigation will include the “Traffic Rerouting” and weather reports  to help avoid the untimely delays. Zagat ratings will also help reduce the occurrence of visiting that “Tourist Trap” type restaurant during vacation. Not to mention, the fully integrated iPod and USB audio interface will allow you take full advantage of your digital music library. Bluetooth with the phone-book exchange will also be standard.
