It is no surprise that the 2012 Honda Civic has gotten some of the best reviews in its class. The body style was carefully adjusted to prove the Civic’s evolution in time rather than a complete redesign. The vehicle is designed for comfort-ability, safety, and economic sustainability. The sculpted bumpers, swept back windshield, longer hood, and larger taillights are all a part of the 2012 Honda Civic’s charm. When I was sitting in the 2012 Honda Civic for the first time, I realized how comfortable the seat was before anything! No intrusive lumbar support and no awkward head rest. The two-tier display with digital speedometer above the analog tachometer was right where I needed it to be. The vehicle is designed for easy driving, the steering wheel does not block important displays from the driver like similar models. When I started driving the 2012 Honda Civic LX Automatic I was a little hesitant… I had been driving manual Honda Accords for over five years, needless to say speed and pickup are important to me when driving in Atlanta traffic. I was amazed at how the Civic drove though.

The 2012 Honda Civic is like no other automatic fuel efficient vehicle I have driven in the past. The 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine with 140 hp is strong enough to feel its power on the road yet is still incredibly economic with 28 mpg in the city and 39 mpg oh highways! The gears changed flawlessly when I hit the gas getting onto the highway. I couldn’t hear a sound and the ride was indescribably smooth.

The multi informational display is fantastic as well, I could easily read what songs were playing while I was driving. The interior was very spacious with more leg room and shoulder room for the front and rear passengers. The 2012 Honda Civic is on an entirely different list when I compare it to all of the fuel efficient cars in its class. The style is sleek, the inside is comfortable and charming, visibility is perfect, and the drive was smooth and fast!

The most impressive part about the 2012 Honda Civic is how there are so many upgrades from the 2011 Honda Civic and so many options like the Hybrid, Coupe, HF, and Sedan… Yet the prices have largely unchanged! There are so many trim styles to chose from at, check out your Atlanta Dealer!

This system does not use traditional throttle cables and pulleys… thus driver input and throttle response is much more crisp. The drive by wire system also plays a huge roll in Honda’s Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA). VSA integrates the Throttle, Braking, and Traction systems to insure that driver input and the intended course are closely communicated and delivered.

Hybrids have stole the show for iconic gas mileage. Rightfully so, the Honda CR-Z, Civic Hybrid, and Insight Hybrid have all shown huge savings at the pump.  Many industry experts are looking at the Overall Cost of ownership over specific periods of time, and thats where the Honda Hybrids have stolen the show! I read a report from Honda - Sales Insight.  It reviewed the cost of ownership- and the significant saving with Honda Hybrid Cars.

The Carland Group would like to shed some light on common misconceptions. Often we hear customers  say ” Just an Oil Change”, or they “just changed the oil.” The truth to the matter is an oil change is actually only one of the things we do when you bring your Honda or Acura to one of our local Atlanta Honda and Acura Service locations.  Honda and Acura genuine Accessories are quite important here. The OEM oil filters contain much more medium, an anti-drainback valve, and a by-pass valve. The oil filter will actually close if it becomes clogged to help avoid engine oil deprivation. The Honda and Acura oil filter will also keep oil from draining completely out of your cylinders to avoid long-term engine damage from cold starts. On top of that the oil filter has a “P” Shape seal that will actually completely seal vs. many of the competitor’s flat seals that may cause oil leaks. Another thing our Honda and Acura Technicians do is replace your Drain Plug “Crush Washer”. What is a Crush Washer?-it is a one time use washer that will crush and seal when the oil pan drain bolt is fastened. The crush washer will protect the threads of your aluminum oil pn and help protect against leaks . Too often customers come in with damaged oil pans from other service shops that did not use a crush washer or reused the crush washer. On average an aluminum oil pan will cost about $500.00 to replace. Some shop will actually use a nonmailable metal washer that will not reduce torque pressure, and will still strip the threads on oil pan.

Acura and Honda Carland Service Centers  also perform a multi-point inspection on your Honda or Acura. This form will rate the condition of your tires, brakes, and fluids. When you are ready to leave, our service advisors will review the sheet to bring you up to speed on your cars overall condition. This will help you to anticipate any needed future auto repairs or maintenance. Part of this inspection includes your braking system, tire wear, alignment inspection,  and your battery condition. It is nice to know when you are on a trip that your brakes are at 80% , your tires have about 15,000 miles of tread, and your battery’s holding steady.

All 5000 mile services are considered EXPRESS , which will insure that you will be able to be in and out within 45 minutes. An entire technician team will complete your service, and will meticulously follow the Honda EXPRESS service guidelines. Wen you bring your Honda or Acura to Roswell, Duluth, or Alpharetta- we will even wash your Honda or Acura for you.  It is very easy for an independent shop to tell you “You don’t need to, or they are over charging you, in fact, in most cases we are cheaper, but it seems that standard reply is that the dealer in some way is taking advantage of your needs. It is a common misunderstanding, but in reality- our service departments continually compare our prices with independents, and in most cases- the independent is replacing your oil filter, and that is it. When in fact – Carland Service is insuring that your Honda and Acura will receive the maintenance and care it deserves, and not short cutting to be a price leader. Our technicians are trained to specifically work on your Honda or Acura, and the Carland Group average tenure for a service technician is 4.9 years. Not bad!

Some of you have asked me last year to talk about some Honda Accessories that will show your significant other you care while not denting the checkbook to bad.  I spoke to Don Jones the Parts Manager for the Carland Group for over 15 years, and he expressed a few gift ideas that will do the trick!

For her-

Cargo Tray- The cargo tray is an invaluable item! It will allow her to easily protect the carpets in the Honda. The Cargo Tray is light and can easily be removed for cleaning. The Cargo Tray range in price , but are relatively inexpensive and will protect your carpets for the life of her Honda!

Cargo Net- Cargo Nets have evolved , and are no longer just one compartment item. The newer 2008-2011 Honda Accord will come with several compartments, and allow her to seriously organize her trunk area!

Odyssey Seat Covers- Cloth Seats? Washable and easily removable, made out of the same FXC Fabric that the Elements seats are made from. The seat covers are very durable and will make beach clean-ips much easier.

For Him-

Body Side Molding- Nothing stands out more than an unsightly ding from a grocery cart or car door, most Honda offer body-side molding that will protect the doors, and they are painted to match the color of your vehicle.

Moonroof Visor- Cruising with the moonroof visor will greatly reduce the wind noise in the vehicle, not to mention, less sun on the growing foreheads like mine… (In Some Cases)!

Cargo Covers- Security is always a thought, cargo covers will enable your cargo to be protected from the direct sun, and also valuable items will remain hidden from site, they can easily be installed, and are a high impact item!
